~Sponsorship Opportunities~ Sponsorship for the Surry County Equestrian Team means giving a child a dream! It means a child can do something they have never been able to do, but have always wanted to do. It means physical, mental, emotional and spiritual therapy. It means self-esteem, responsibility, healthy relationships and strong bonds that last forever! Yes, it can be that important to a child and it can have that much of an impact on their life! If you have any doubts about how powerful the presence of horses and the presence of this type of program can be… ask any child, any adult or anyone that has ever had the opportunity to build a relationship and a skill though riding horses! The Surry County Equestrian Team is a group of youth ages 6 to 18 that either attends school or resides in Surry County. This TEAM learns to ride, care for and appreciate horses with their peers. This group will also compete against other counties, equestrian teams and other riders as frequently as possible to learn team spirit, healthy competition and experience the amazing feeling of a job well done! The Surry County Equestrian Team is open to ANY child healthy enough to participate in a sport. They do not have to know how to ride, they do not have to be a good rider, and they do not have to be athletic! This Team is open to any child. Our goal is to also open the team to any child regardless of ability to pay team fees. Team fees are $1800 per year per child. $200 is required up-front upon signing up to secure team clothing. The reason this is important, is because this money purchases riding boots, special riding breeches, an ASTM approved safety helmet and a team riding shirt. We do allow the remaining balance to be paid in monthly installments for those unable to pay in full. Monthly installments are $135.00 per month. This includes 3 hours of riding and barn time each week. Most children are able to pay at least $50 per month and Cardinal Riding Academy approves limited scholarships funds for families unable to pay as well. However, this still does not cover the costs for that child. This program is not funded or sponsored in any way by the county or state or any other agency. We rely solely on your help for sponsorship to make these children's dream come true!! Even $10 Can Help! Please Don't Feel Your Contribution Can't Make A Difference!
